Rectangular Veil with Fillet - Cotton

The Rectangular Veil with Fillet is one of those quiet essentials that ties everything together. Whether you're building a historical outfit for reenactment or a believable fantasy costume, this piece helps you hit that authentic note without going over the top.

Historically, veils like this were worn by women across medieval Europe for modesty, warmth, and protection from the elements, but also to frame the face, soften the silhouette, and signal class or status. This one is modeled after common historical examples, particularly suited to 12th–14th century characters, and works equally well for LARP, stage productions, and fantasy settings where a grounded base layer matters.

The veil is made from 100% cotton in a light plain weave, smooth, breathable, and easy to drape. The rectangular cut gives you real flexibility: let it fall loosely for a humble look, fold or pin it neatly for something more structured, or layer it with a coif, wimple, circlet, or crown depending on where your character lives. The included fillet, a matching fabric band, keeps everything securely in place through long days of walking, crafting, or storytelling, no slipping required.

It's also easy to care for: machine wash after events, fold into your kit bag, and reshape with a quick press.

Why it's worth adding to your kit:

• Inspired by authentic medieval women's headwear

• Light plain-woven 100% cotton for soft drape and all-day comfort

• Includes a matching fillet for secure, no-fuss placement

• Rectangular cut allows for varied historical and fantasy styling

• Breathable, packable, and easy to care for

• Great for LARP, reenactment, medieval fairs, stage, or living history

• Suits peasant, middle-class, and upper-status costumes alike

Whether you're aiming for historical accuracy or simply want to ground your costume with a realistic touch, this veil delivers, with comfort and quiet confidence.
