Compact Gear
Full-Size Gear That Fits in Your Trunk
Epic Armoury's Compact gear is full-size LARP equipment built to disassemble for transport: foam polearms that split into halves on a screw thread, battle standards that pack down to luggage length, and tent poles that let an entire canvas tent travel in a regular-sized trunk. Nothing about the gear shrinks at the event, a 190 cm halberd is still a 190 cm halberd on the battlefield. It just stops being 190 cm in your hatchback, on the train, or in airline luggage on the way there.
The Problem Compact Solves
A single sword travels easily. A war camp doesn't. Polearms, standards, tents, and poles are the pieces that decide whether your kit fits in the car or on the flight, and they're exactly the pieces this collection redesigns. If you've ever angled a spear through a passenger seat, paid oversize luggage for a foam weapon, or left the halberd at home because the bus was the only way to the event, this is the range that removes the problem.
How the System Works
Compact foam weapons split into two parts on a solid metal screw thread: M12 on the foam polearms, M10 on the laser sword line. Unscrew, pack both halves in a duffel, and reassemble in seconds at the event, no tools, no loose hardware, no visible seam in your silhouette. One rule comes with the system: fight only when the weapon is securely assembled. Check the connection at weapon check like you'd check any blade, and the joint is a non-issue all event.
What's in the Collection
-
Compact polearms: The long weapons that need it most: spears, halberds, partisans, a naginata, a battle scythe, and a double-headed chaos axe, reaching full battlefield length from a two-part pack.
-
Complete battle standard sets: Everything a warband's banner needs in one purchase, with your choice of top, from spear point to winged skull, on the same pack-down pole system.
-
Tents and pole packs: Marquees, wedge tents, pavilions, and conical tents alongside compact wall, centre, and ridge poles, so the camp that sleeps your whole group still loads into an ordinary car.
Built for the Distance
Travel is where LARP gear dies: pole ends snapped in transit, canvas hauled on roof racks through rain, weapons stored bent because they don't fit anywhere straight. Compact gear packs shorter, which means it packs protected, inside the bag, inside the car, out of the weather. For players who fly to events, a two-part polearm turns an impossible item into ordinary checked luggage.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a Compact weapon as sturdy as a one-piece?
Yes, when securely assembled. The metal screw thread forms a rigid core connection, and assembly takes seconds without tools.
Can I fight with it half-assembled or use one half alone?
No. Compact weapons are built and safety-designed as complete weapons; fight only when fully and securely assembled.
Will it pass weapon check at my LARP?
Compact weapons are standard Epic Armoury foam weapons and pass check like any other. Assemble before check, and confirm the joint is tight as part of your routine.
Can I take one on a flight?
Yes, in checked luggage. Split in two, even the longest polearms come down to ordinary bag length, which is the entire point.
Do the compact tent poles fit my existing Epic Armoury tent?
Yes, the compact wall, centre, and ridge poles are made for our canvas tent range. Check your tent's model on the pole product pages for the right set.
Pack Light, Fight Big
Bring the weapon the battlefield deserves, not the one the car allowed. Pair your polearm with armor and clothing from the rest of Epic Armoury's range, and let the keg of dwarven mead have the back seat.
