Trench Bowie

Rugged and Gritty.

The Trench Bowie is the knife that resembles an old hand-me-down. Modelled on the utilitarian and uncouth trench knives of World War I, this foam dagger combines the crude shape of a Bowie knife with the unadorned utility of a knuckle guard. It’s the sort of tool you’d expect to find clutched in the hand of a mercenary, a scavenger, or anyone who’s had to scrap their way through a rough world.

At 46 cm overall length, it's small enough to keep with you, yet big enough to do some good. The sawback edge on the clip-point blade provides grit and visual texture without compromising safety. The worn-wood-textured handle, with a worn-wood feel between the fingers, is wrapped in distressed brass, and the four knuckle guard finger holes give it a big, intimidating profile. It has character and grit, even when it's just riding on your belt.

This is a dagger that belongs in a broad variety of environments, including post-apocalyptic ruins, dark fantasy worlds, steampunk zeppelins, and dystopian metropolises. As a bounty hunter with a grudge to bear, a thief who likes functional metal, or a grunt soldier making do on instincts and determination, the Trench Bowie provides depth to your arsenal.

The handle finger guard is more than just for looks. It provides a comfortable grip when the going gets tough and shields you when the fighting intensifies. And although the look is brutalizing, it still has the level of detail and realism you'd expect from Epic Armoury, right down to the faux patina on the metal look-alikes and the subtle curves of the "brass" edges.

Naturally, beneath that rugged exterior, it remains safe for live-action. Made of rugged closed-cell foam over a reinforced core, with an outer coating of latex-free material, the Trench Bowie can withstand the bumps, scrapes, and crazy moments of LARP combat.
