Build special-effects makeup looks with water-based colours, zombie makeup, sponges, setting products, and removal supplies from Epic Armoury. This collection is suited to LARP, cosplay, Halloween, theatre, film, photography, and character makeup that needs more than a standard costume face.
Start with the effect you want
Choose the base colour and finish according to the character. Water-based makeup in shades such as Zombie Pale, Yellow, Umbra, Silver, and Dark Green can help create undead, sickly, dirty, metallic, or fantasy effects. A ScareCrow Zombie Kit can provide a more direct starting point for a themed look, while individual colours allow you to build a palette around your own character or reference.
Application tools make a visible difference. Stipple and round makeup sponges can create uneven colour, texture, bruising, dirt, or weathering instead of a flat painted surface. Use a setting spray when the product instructions support it and allow each layer to dry before adding the next detail. If you combine makeup with transfers, prosthetics, teeth, or adhesive effects, plan the order of application so one product does not interfere with another.
Removal and preparation
Read the instructions for every product before applying it, especially when working near the eyes, mouth, or broken skin. Test new products before an event if you have sensitive skin. Collodion or collodion-removal products and other removers should be used exactly as directed; do not assume that one remover is suitable for every adhesive or effect.
Use the individual product pages as the final source for ingredients, application, removal, shade, contents, and current availability. Browse the collection to create an SFX makeup kit that matches your character and event.
Build a special-effects makeup kit
A useful SFX kit normally includes a base colour, one or more contrast shades, application tools, and a way to set or remove the finished effect. Water-based colours can be mixed or layered to create pale, dirty, bruised, metallic, undead, or fantasy tones. Start with the lightest broad area, then add darker or more saturated colour where you need depth. Product pages provide the correct shade information for each item.
Sponges create different textures. A round sponge can help apply an even base, while a stipple sponge can break up the colour and suggest dirt, age, bruising, or damaged skin. A setting spray may help preserve the finish when used as directed. Work in thin layers and allow each layer to dry before adding another so the makeup remains easier to control.
Combine makeup with costume effects
SFX makeup can be used on its own or combined with temporary tattoos, wounds, prosthetics, teeth, masks, and costume clothing. Plan the effect around the part of the face or body that will remain visible. If an adhesive or remover is involved, follow its own instructions and do not assume that a makeup remover will dissolve every product. Test new products before an event, particularly if your skin is sensitive.
